The airfreight is not good for under 45 kgs. The only choice is courier, but all DHL, TNT, UPS are too expensive.

ask your Chinese suppliers to find a courier for less than 100 USD for this. There are small Chinese courier companies/agents do this.

If the goods are from Shenzhen , I can help. 16 KG to UK less than 100 USD, and it took about 10 days deliveried on door.

The thing is they do not speak english, so you have to get a local person to help you.

To US even cheaper . ( for another mate's question. )

If my answer can help, i will be very happy.

Ive found an amazing shipping company, Apollo Exports International, that manages shipping from China to UK for only £9.97 per kg!!! [em3] [em19] [em3] [em34]

Ive used them 5x now and it takes less than 1minute to make my order compared to when i tried to use DHL and EMS which took almost an hour coz they were so f***king complicated!!

They are more of a 'hands on do it yourself company' tho and are more like a 'shipping agent' than a door-2-door pickup courier service, and so targeted at people in the UK who are buying from chinese suppliers via sites suchas tradekey.

The site makes it so easy and straightforward to use tho, and the fact that they actually use; EMS, Parcelforce, and their own ExportBase all combined together but still manage to give you a lower price than if you book direct from EMS any other shipping company suchas UPS or TNT, means that the other companies just can't compete!! LOL

Their website is www.ApolloExportsInternational.com

Replying to [Jonny]: Hello Mr. Gobled-goop..that was very funny. I am very, very new to this whole arena. In fact I'm taking my first "baby-step" and am having samples sent to me. The cost of the samples is extremly low.(under USD200.00) My contact at the company said UPS qouted her $USD1500.00 from Shanghai to New York. She suggested I contact other carriers to get a better price. Can anyone make suggestions?? Is anyone familar with AAEExpress? This is what I know. There are 2 cartons: 62x46x52cm & 99x63x54cm. Weights are: 4.680kg & 11.842kg. Of course the metric system is new to me as well. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you, ruperttom

I am importing things from Shanghai to Canada on LCL (less the container loads) cheaply, for example 1CBM-5CBM around $600-$800 US

I'm also expressing things from Shanghai to Canada for:

50kgs - 250kgs - 6.50 - 7.00 US

Its all about the good connections my friends!

Replying to [S McB]: USD230 is very expensive for 16kgs if you do not care the time, maybe the international courier or the air company do not give you any discount. Our company have the contract rate with the international courier, if you have small cargo, I can handle it with less cost.

Did you ever figure out the best way to ship your goods to UK from China. I had exactly the same question about shipping for almost the exact weight you were dealing with (16kg). What did you determine was you best, cheap way to do it?

Recently my friend sent some printing materials from the China post office to France via the EMS for 6.22kg , the charges was RMB1180 (US$164 around) and it takes 10 to 14 days to arrive Paris.
And then 22.5kg by so called the surface parcel for the same printing
at the costs of RMB439 (US$61 appro) and it takes around 2 months to arrive Paris ;
again for another parcel sent by the means of SAL
parcel for 8.8kg of the catalogue printings and costs RMB486 (US$68) and it takes for around one month to arrive France.
I have compared the costs from Fedex, UPS, DHL ,none of them can
fight with the costs. And I think if you do not need the books or
some parcels urgently and can wait for some time, suggest to use
the China post office which may provide a less costs services for you.
Hope those info will help you to compare. [em17]
