At the moment i pay $230 for shipping 16kg worth of goods from China to the UK, which is very costly. Does anyone know of any cheaper ways to ship goods from China.

Im not concerned about the time takes. Are there any services or companys that sell slots in containers. I would be interested to know im looking to import roughly 100kg of compact goods?

I would like to know the answer as I intent to import items in small quantity

I would also like to know the answer as I wish to transport around 16 kgs from Xiamen China to Spain.  If anyone can do it for less than $200 perhaps they could email me at No contact details allowed - Mod

Thanks.

Replying to [S McB]:There are always minimums along the way on both ends, so small shipments will have a high unit cost for shipping. Postal rates are the cheapest, and the slowest, most risky. Consolidated ocean freight is the cheapest, with about 1 cubic meter being what you pay for regardless of if your shipment is smaller. May think CIF is cheapest, and it can be, but it can also be that they haven't found the right forwarder themselves. Some importers think that buying CIF absolves them of risk during transit... not true. The risk is the same as with FOB.

While I can't agree that the risk with CIF is the same as with FOB.Coz if you take CIF,then the seller should be responsible for the delivery. He should assume any risk happens during the delivery.

help! we are 3 volunteer teachers returning to Britain in July and we would like to ship some of our personal belongings and a rather largish box of fabrics and various items bought here. It does not come to much more than a meter cube - maybe a bit more, 4 cardboard boxes, the size a TV comes in. - more or less. probably around 100kg. (a rough guess) - can we include our personal shipment with anyone's? We cannot pay the $2000 and don't need 3 cubic meters which is the smallest freight courier we found so far. We can pack within 24 hours in front of someone to see what it is - but we need it picked up in Baoji, Shaanxi , and delivered in Bristol, UK - OR does anyone know a courier we can use? (contact via TM)

It's a better way to find a forwarder to deliver your belongings. And the price is much lower than 2000 USD.Maybe it's about 1200 USD based on 100 kg.

Hi , I think that's expensive to ship 16Kg to UK , though I send by DHL to UK customer with 16kgs , the cost is USD160 only .

In fact , in China .usually we use DHL/Fedex /UPS for air posting .as No normal posting services available . another is EMS. but that's same price as DHL/FedEx /UPS .  even higher .

When you all say you ship your products from China to another country using FedEx or DHL, do you have your Chinese contact take the products to DHL in China?

I've noticed the price quotes are vasty different. For instance, if here in USA, I contact DHL for a quote for 2 cartons weight approx. 80 kg total, the cost is about, 1200 USD. But when my employee in China contacts DHL China, the shipping cost is only about 350 USD.

I have the problems too. one of my customer ask me to send sample to France. but the shipper fee is $60 for 2.5 kg, he ask me whether we have any cheaper way to France! I don' t know, if any of you know the cheapest way ,please tell me!

it has already very cheap for the express delievery such as the DHL or the others ,but you can try the ems or TNT,for the price is more favorable ,the advantages of DHL is for the big cargo .you can try to ask the price from the ems .

You can try and find a freight forwarder from www.freightforum.com  Perhaps you can get a low quotation. Good luck.

Has anybody here tried the guys at China Postal Services (www.sendfromchina.com)?

They seem to have pretty good prices for sample size orders...
