Like any new product come out on the market, the supplier must confidents in their product that they are manufacturing, so it not should matter of the order capacity. However, the buyers on the other hand will need confidents in the market and the product they're aboutto take o board.

Therefore as a buyer point of view, a small volume order to test out the markets demand, in order to have large order down the track, as business these days are getting more and more sophisticated, new technologu and discoveries are found and made each day, therefore porduct life cycles is getting shorter, than they ever were decades ago, therefore, as a buyer we don't want to be over committed, but guess the issues is not the matter of quantiy orders but a matter of products confidents.

The golden rule we all know is that "we must have confidents in the product that one is selling" don't you agree.?

The irony here also does the manufacturer has cofidents in what he/she produces and manufactured or simply the case of making a quick and a quick sale than move on to the next product.

So one could debate these issues till the cows comes homes. In conlcusion, for both the manufacturerer and the buyer should ask themselves on simple question "DO WE HAVE A GOOD QUALITY PRODUCT" if the answer is YES than quantity shouldn't really matter ...

As a seller for a manufacturer and importer, we do pay attention to all the small orders. Sometimes it is difficult, because we can't provide pre production samples to every small order that comes in until the buyer pays because we lose a lot of money. It's hard to convey this to buyers, even though we provide an effective risk free way of doing business.

I think doing business is same as making friends.

No matter small or big order, we should take it carefully, and do our best.

Maybe when you meet a new customer, he give you a small order, but I think this is a beginning, so please don't disappoint, please believe that tomorrow is another day!

All business starts with small orders only.

Any buyer will go for big orders only if he is satisfy with product and serivces he receives at the intialy small order.

As a buyer I will proceed as under.

(1) Ask for quotations
(2) If prices are o.k. will ask for free sample (The seller will pay the freight)
(3) Samples are O.k. We will go fro trial order
(4) After successfull  execution of the trial order, we will go for medium sized order and than go for regular Big order.

Everyone needs to start out small to grow big.  If no one will give you a chance to get your business off the ground it's really frustrating.

As usual, small orders lead to big orders. It is first step for big business.

In my opinion, I was working for a importer as buying office in China. We  usual place small orders to a lot of manufactuers before we can place big orders with them.

All of the above is my opinion.

Smaller orders might mean less profit, but do they have larger implications, like return business?

Off course as to any other industry to develop a trust between buyer and the seller the seller should accept small orders regardless to its fruits

I planted a tree some 62 years ago when I was only 5 years old.  The cutting was smaller than my arm.

I revisted the tree the other day and it is now close to 15 feet high, everything in nature begins small so why not business
