Quoting from [Anshul]:
Replying to [int786]:What is meant by CIF ASWP? I understand CIF but this ASWP - Any Safe World Port, it this any port name or it means any port in the World? i.e seller will pay the Cost, freight and insurance to any safe port where buyer desire.

ASWP is supposed to mean Any safe world port. However, we ask you to be very cautious of anyone using such terms. Anyone who exports goods knows that freight is the most variable part of CIF price. CIF includes freight cost. Let me ask you this. If an exporter is exporting 5000 tons of goods from China to India, how can the freight cost be anything like the freight cost from China to West Africa? Vessels are hired out on daily rates and a voyage that is 5 days longer with slower unloading rate will be much higher cost than a shorter voyage with quick unloading time. Therefore, realistically, how can ANY exporter provide ASWP offers?
Unfortunately the truth is ASWP is a sure sign you are dealing with a complete amatuer who does not know what they are doing. We strongly recomend that as soon as you see ASWP after any price quote you move on to the next one. Ignore it.
Perhaps anyone who reads this can try and justify an ASWP price?
