CIF, ASWP, SBLC, BG?

I requested a qoute from a supplier and in his response he indicate a price together with the letters CIF ASWP-SBLC/BG. What does this mean? Thanks

Replying to [Buffet]:
CIF = Cost, Insurance, Freight. The Sellers pays all charges until the cargo arrives at your Port.
ASWP = Any Safe World Port.
SBLC = Stand By Letter of Credit (talk to your bank about this)
BG = Bank Guarantee (Talk to your bank about this too)

Yes, However CIF-ASWP is not an Incoterm and it's pretty poor English anyway.
Incidently, I would never buy CIF unless the Insurance policy is transferable to me + covers all risks + is written in $USD. (Remember, buyer can't claim under the policy if buyer is not party to the Insurance contract and seller may not insure for all risks under CIF).

I am new to this industry: I would have through that, as long as it is CIF with an L/C, the L/C would protect the buyer in case of any issues. Is this correct, or not always?
Does a D L/C offer less protection?
