Totally agree! It is not easy for buyer to come to China for each order and visit each supplier. Sharing one story, maybe useful for other buyers.
One buyer from Australia who's a big seller for home appliances, seling some coffee maker, heater fans, electronic fans...we know them for more than 5 years. At the start, their engineer always come to China factory, some in Zhejiang some in Gunagdong,each time the engineer fly to HK then go Guangdong and Zhejiang, they did inspection by himself, problems comes, factory's sales man don't understand what the engieer talking about, when sales guy translate the technical findings to factory's engineer, totally have no idea, because sales guy's poor engineering knowledge. At one time, Australia engineer told factory's sale's girl they require fibreglass sleeve on the electrical wire inside the product, factory's girl have no idea, then she told factory to have stronger insulation for the electrical wire, but it is different thing. You know what, factory have to rework again, it cost a lot of money, because product need to be opened and redo the assembly.
You can see the story, so that's why sourcing company and professional inspection company can survive in the market, there is such big needs to fix the understanding issue between buyers and factory. It is not about english, it is more about engineering, customer special requirement, familar with safety regulation of customers...

i totally agree with you.
maximum buyer think if there is any middleman then they have to pay more. but this is totally wrong. You need a middleman to control your overseas business. Middleman will help you a lot to choose good factory, price negotiation, to get good quality products and on time shipment which is really impotent in this business. this will may cost buyer few cents but end of the day buyer will be gainer. Its better expense few cents then loose all. read the Rules of Forum if you want to be in here !
