Furniture shipping from China to Canada 9 replies,1339 views

Hello

I have never purchased anything from China before and need help please for my business.

I live in Ontario Canada and would like to know who to use for logistics to ship furniture directly to me.  I do not have an account with any carriers and need help deciding who to hire for freight/carriers.  This is the first time i'm trying this.

I would need the shipment of furniture to be shipped from China to Canada and the somehow shipped to my business in Ontario Canada.

Can anyone please help me know the costs($) involved and who would be the best place to hire to take care of everything from China to Canada including the paperwork please?

Regardinthe sea freight, he best one is DAMCO, but the price is expensive. So you can als check Evergreen.
As for the paperwork,if your supplier quoted FOB price, that he will make paperwork with you. But if your price quote FOR price. You'd better find an agent to help you handle relative procedures because there will be much complicated for experting.
Just remind of you, I don't know what material furniture which you bought. If they are wood. It needs fumigation/Disinfection Ceartificate and Phytosanitary Certiicate. Otherwise it cannot ship to Canada Market.

Best to check with a logistics company located in Canada. I am sure they will provide with all the information you need.

contact a freight forwarder such as Pacific Overseas Forwarding.  ( 866-535-4038They have great rates and will work on your behalf. Make sure you  get an Exporter's Statement of Origin completed by the supplier/mfg in China as this can mean lower duty rates in to Canada.

have you explored what kind of duty you will be looking at for each type of product?

Get the quotations from few of the freight forwarders that deals in international deliveries and compare the prices with respect to the services offered and then make decision based on facts, that can include creditability and reliability of the company.
