The answer is no.

If you look through this forum you will find plenty of comments that show that even verified members cannot be 100% guaranteed with many examples of people being scammed by them.

The verification system here is not good enough to be safe.

For unverified companies, well they are unverified only because they have not paid any money to Alibaba.

I have a company listed on Alibaba, but I am not verified. I was a gold member before but their costs kept rising and there was no good benefit for me to stay a gold member.

I certainly hope I would not be regarded as a scammer.

My advise is that no matter whether the company is verified or not, YOU still need to do checks to satisfy yourself they are ok to deal with. Do not rely on verification by Alibaba as any guanratee.
