I fully under stand your problem. For UK clients they are used to getting price lists that for example state if you buy 10pcs you get them for $100 if you buy 25pcs you get $80 and if you buy 100pcs you get for $55. Most of the UK buyers worry because of the distance betwwen the suppklier and them is so great that they feel that they are taking a great chance in your product and your company. The dont know if your product is of good quality our if you business is a good reliable business. So not to take to big of a risk they want to work out what quantity will both give them a good financial return with taking the least risk. Then when they are happy with your product they will make larger orders etc. In regards to poor discription of there requirments you can just send them a list of similer products with prices explaining to them that the price good be much cheeper if you knew the exact product requirments. If you have a design team you could offer a design service. Another thing that UK Buyers like is access to other people in your company like your design team for example because 9 times out of 10 the sales agent does not really know a lot about the product and the buyer can tell this by there breif replys. This then makes the buyer suspicius about your products and does not feel happy if the person selling them the product doesnt even know what it is that they are selling. So I recomend that the buyer has full access to all departments within your business. All of this will instil greater confidance with your company and its products. And please educate you sales agents better. Some other problams are that and item in china may be called by one name and in the UK our any other country could have a totally differant name for the same product. For example what you may call a food cart I would call it a Catering Trailer our a fastfood trailer. So when doing and internet search for the product, the company that discribes the item the same as it is called in the UK has the greater chance of the sale as your product that is the same thing but by a differant name. Will be missed completely in the Internet search. A way around this is when you make contact with a new client from another company take your time to question them a little and ask them what it would be called in there country and then add that to the product description so that it will be found in an internet search.
I hope this is of help and if there is anything else you would like to know about when dealing with UK clients please just ask and I will try to help.
