L/C is bank credit, different from D/P which is commercial credit. L/C is safer than D/P.

With a transferable letter of credit if my company in the UK has found a buyer. Is it possible to transfer letters of credit with the supplier if they are from a foreign bank or would I have to setup a bnk acc in the suppliers country or is it possible to tranfser the L/C between both countries???
