This is a part of sales you have to deal with, it happened all the time, and to all people.
My advise is that you get the feedback from this prospect. I would not call him or her a customer. I have here a sample of the Feedback email from our German principal.

Any other question on Sales and Marketing? If you have problems with your sales, don't just quit the company. If you do that, the problem would never been solved. It is the usual problem that many people who are new to the sales job face. They are not sure what to do, and how to make their sales.

I have trained Sales Team for Engineering products in my position as Marketing Manager of a small firm of about 50 employees. There are two parts to the training, as the product is technical in nature, there is one part for Technical Knowledge, and another part for Salesmanship.

Being a Marketing Manager, it is much easier to look at Sales objectively, and from a Overview perspective. We have a good run of successful business during the years.
