Ways to Identify Scammers

I simply call the company and ask. If you call China - expect them to speak Chinese - and if they speak English with a Nigerian accent you know what to do.
Another is to fax them, asking them to e.g. print their Alibaba posting and fax this back to you.
I third is to use e.g. Skype or MS Messenger, find someone in the same city and ask therm to make a quick call. They speak the local language - and if they come back telling you that the number is to a paint-shop - you know that this is not place to order mobile phones.
Most people will respond positive and make the call - just remember to reward this person afterwards for the call if you proceed and make a fortune. Fortunately e-commerce is about people, and lending a hand to other traders should be more common.

Such fraudulent companies as this one, calling himself many names including Mr Shaun Patrick, Patrick Lexx, Talla Patrick Moulbe, Eric or Mr Wang Chu Lin on this site in 3/06 http://www.ecplaza.net/tradeleads/biz/4112664/looking_for_mp34.html.
and most recently E-Spry or otherwise known as L-Show on EC-21's website http://products.ec21.com/manufacturers/E-Spry.html .
this man needs to be stopped as all criminals do. It is up to those who exert authority to act.
I think displaying a registered business number is what is required, obtainable only through secure channels. Alibaba can supply this "trading number" and re-registrations by fraudsters should not be permitted.
the two points i see as most important are the company name and the proprietors name.

just to let u know - its almost midnight here in UK and i am online working researching etc etc - so the time frame check u suggest is totally useless.
Lots of Uk biz will be online late at night researching suppliers etc because they are too busy dealing with customers and day to day biz affairs during the usual 9am - 5pm period.

Replying to [tworiverstradingco]:Thanks very much for your article.
I think it's very useful for all of us to identify scammers. Hope all of us can union together to make a healthy business environment.
I am a Chinese girl, and my name is Yuky.May be I have a different opinion of your ways to identify scammers. From your articles you have mentioned many channels to search for related information. Such as from Google, Alibaba or other website. All of us know American have a very perfect network. But to chinese may not be so good. So I think search from the website is a way, but not the only way.

Replying to [khflottorp]: The main factorsof the scammers are,
1. African Countries.
2.Huge amount orders in millions of dollars, whcih you know is a Fantasy.
3.Deals in MoneyOrders & Cheques both (Fake).
4.Requires T/T fees in their own country with some non-related document requirements & service charges.
5.Show theirself as a Big Business Firm of stock retails mostly in UnitedKingdom.
All the above are the identities for the scammers.
