ALIBABA Could this ever happen
Post 1 of 10
If this site was full of %100 or even %90 legitimate buyers and suppliers this site would be amazing. I believe that paying a small fee could massively stamp out fraudsters on this site the main reason for this fee would be funding for you ALIBABA to improve the security. If you at alibaba told us a fee that would cover the costs required to do things such as

1. Install a feedback system similar to the one used in ebay

2. Had a marking system that could mark company profiles with say a red flag that would warn suppliers/buyers they are either proved fraudulant or there is a massive risk here

3. Carry out more detailed searches on companys that have been reported

4. A working black list- this could be an easy access database full of all scammer companies

5. The fees could pay for you to employ staff to closely moniter this site and work more closely with its memebers

6. Look at what all the other members have said

Im shaw if this site was even %90 safe not a single trustworthy person that users this site would argue with parting company with say $20 joining fee for Alibaba to make this site a better place

Also im no expert on but is it not true that people that are caught and removed from the site then just re- join under different names email addresses?. If this were the case everytime they rejoin they themselves would get stung by $20 joining fee which would be some consoloation to the people that lose there hard earned money and it could be a detterent in its own right.

Would anyelse be willing to pay a joining fee if it helped stamp out scammers?

All your views would be appreciated on this matter!
Could this ever happen i doubt it

Thanks for the input. So, how do you deal with China and be sure you will ever get the goods?

You are right but money makes the world go round, and what i was suggesting is that maybe a small introctory fee and abolishing free membership could give Alibaba the financial clout to carry out safer methods to improve this site.

Maybe they have already read it and are discussing the matter internally before they reply.
We can only hope.

Im not to fussed i just wanted to give Alibaba some ideas from someone who has had alot of experience from using similar sites and programes. But i saw someone raise a very good point, at the end of the day this site is a MEDIUM and it is a very well structured medium at that.

Yes, grigo, I have already read and submitted my reply a few days ago. But my reply seems not appear.  I am not sure if it is a bug. Anyway, S McB's suggesition is very typical and reasonable, I have already forwarded it to related department for further consideration already.
