How Alibaba should develop
Post 1 of 9

First, I would like to congratulate Alibaba for Trade Manager which has helped me to develop good business contacts.

Alibaba has not  done agressive marketing in a country like India which can provide huge business opportunity. Other B2B companies like Indiamart have been very agressive in promoting their portal in India. They charge some fees for developing a webpage which has been a revenue generating machine for them. Alibaba which is miles ahead in terms of its features is not yet known to the business community the way it should be known. Alibaba should open a office in India or make some affiliates wherby it can promote its portal and market features like Tust Pass which can generate revenue. Trust Pass fees should be reduced because most business cannot afford it. Further alibaba should create a ranking system to judge the companies based on the points given by Alibaba members. This will help to  improve the quality of trade leads posted on the portal. A member should be able to reveiw a company based on his experience. Eg. Amazon, Ebay which has a member reveiw sytem helps the buyer to judje the company he will be dealing beforehand.

Alibaba shoul try to improve its portal because I have been facing problems opening the complete search results.

I love you Alibaba.

I agree with most statements of the above suggertions.

But I have some objections:

-the cost of trustpass should be based on the country or region in which company is situated.

- I personally think that in every country marketing strategies should be customed to local traditions As I have complete economical education I can say that even good working western marketing strategies can fail at the east

-the rankind system - we should remember about competitors - so only registered users may vote for and against

- about verification - you ask them to do yours work?

Many smaller businesses find Alibaba appealing for the opportunity to make contact with suppliers.  Often, these small businesses cannot buy in the minimum quantities manufacturers set.

I suggest efforts be made to list agents or distributors on Alibaba who would combine orders from a number of smaller buyers to meet manufacturers' minimum order requirements.  (I am not a distributor or agent myself--just a small business owner who'd like access to some of the items sold by manufacturers listed on Alibaba.)

I would also like to be able to have an option to view products only from those companies which have Trustpass or Gold Supplier certification, instead of having to look through thousands of listings searching for the relevant symbols.

Some other very simple additions would be helpful:  a list of abbreviations used in product descriptions (e.g., what does OEM/ODM mean with regard to jewellry), encouraging users to provide more information about their product (e.g., does clothing have fibre content labelling--these labels are required by law in North America).

Individually small business may not be important to manufacturers, but collectively they form a large market and right now that market is not being serviced.

Dear Bharat,

Yes, you are right saying that Alibaba should do more work in promoting this global service in the world. In many countries importers and exporters just don't know that they can also use Alibaba.com and sell or buy what they want through this site and that it would only enlarge their income. Of course it would be much better if Alibaba would open its affiliates in countries with rising economy. It would help to benefit both for Alibaba and for businessman.

As for Trust Pass membership, I completely agree with you and with Biohim. Its fees should be fixed  in accordance with the economy of a country.

The ranking system you offer is accepted. But don't forget that all of us have many competitors who can also use this system and bring problems to us. That's why this system must be welldone and safe!

Dear Bharat, i decided to write to you 'cause you will easily understand me. Unfortunately many users can't understand my aim and just ignore my topic and replies. I know that you well remember latest developments in Kashmir and Pakistan ! This tragedy took away more than 70000 lives and crippled and injured thousands who STILL NEED our help !

Please read the topic THE WORLD DOESN'T COST A CHILD'S TEAR .... and help me to realize the idea of founding a  donation center and department which will cooperate with such organizations as Red Cross and UNO and will make  its contribution in good deeds!

I need your help and asistance! Please don't be indifferent to those who need your help!

Sincerely yours,

Abdulaziz Yunusov
