well ali baba shoud provide a safe payment service for both buyers and sellers.
i am personally a buyer, but because there was noo good payment service i did not buy. ali baba should enfore a secure payment serive to the sellers, which sellers can only use that particular 1. the payment service has to secure for both sellers and buyers. also buyers shoud have a gurantee that there money will be refunded if the selers product is not sent the buyer within the delivery period. and also if the product is not what the seller advertised.
Help the companies look better, I deal with many companies in china, the lack of organization and sales depatments are noticible.
I sujest articles about improoving the sales areas, the enphacis on saling the finnish product is good, the enphasis on after sale is not,
Other articles about identifying the customer, qualifying the custumer etc.
we are used to dealing world wide and the difference is big. I notice must companies are from asia, so the need is general.
I notice a problem in relation to the language, Latin America is a large market, and spanish is not present in your page.

in my opinion, alibaba should be more specific when admitting sellers.
no hotmail-yahoo email accouns (this will very much decrease spam and scammers) and any other details which will help us to trust the sellers since there are a lot of scammers.
also, i would set up a feetback system so that every buyer that bought from the company would be able to post a comment and a rating and the average feetback should be displayed.
in the long shot i beleive setting up a sort of alibaba escrow serice would be very highly apreciated, trusted and would obviously boost sales since there would be safer trade
I would make a verification address with at least three or tow utility bills so for those who already joined in and for those who wants to join in the services are serious and not scammers. Here another example of verification, the idea that similar to paypal once they have verified a small amount of payment would go to the persons account u can make like tow different payments to the persons holding account (current account) amount of $0.14 and $0.16 to the account and than you would ask the person to verify these to payments accordingly to the account so that it can be trusted.

Also we would like to see pictures of what the sellers has to offer and clearly stated the packaging and posting or shipping price world wide per unit would make things very easier for buyers or importers.
Not take 5 days to reply with a membership acceptance. This would be almost instant. As I'm charging $349.00 I would make my service to be a lot faster. People join when they see a potential customer within the site. They don't want to loss that customer or wait around whilst someone else makes a move on a possible client..

Dear Usman,With total respect to some of your ideas. I personally and as an experienced graphic designer find the logo of the site very related and expressive to the business name.
In Arabic and middle eastern culture the name of Alibaba is related to an old legend of Ali Baba and the 40 theives, a story similar and has the same inspiration of Alaadin story, so as you see the logo with a Gene face as if it is appearing froma magic lamp "thats my intpretation of the logo" is very related to the name.

I quite agree with your offer of enhancing trademanager. It would be much better if we also could see each other with the help of web-cam and speak to each other. As for me, i always have to guess who is the person i'm going to work with. Sometimes i even ask to send me his/her photo, 'cause i want to know who is my next business partner.
As for your other offers, i can't totally agree with you.
You also offer to change the logo and slogan!? Then advise some! I'm sure you won't , as nothing can be better than "Alibaba.com, Global Trade starts here".

As a trading organisation it is very important to have the alternative of using others languages for comunication.
Languages as Spanish, Portuguese, french and others.
You should include a spot for International freight forwarders to introduce their services. You could possibly build a program that would allow shipper/consignees to put shipments out for bid. It would automatically generate a Request for rates to your member freight forwarders.
I am truely impressed with you web-site and it has unlimited potential.
I would try to make it easier for products to be found by buyers and for buyers to be located easier by suppliers. In addition I would make it easier to use trade manager by being able to email all suppliers and buyers in a certain area.
