Buyers: is Canton fair now less attractive to you?

Hi, I work for a multinational sourcing company based in Hong Kong and Guangzhou - we use Alibaba.com quite often to source certain products for our customers. However, it seems that this year, less and less of our customers are planning to visit the trade fair.
I just want to gauge whether other buyers have the same feeling: is the trade fair now irrelevant since trade with China is more free?

Replying to [gzsupplier]:in my opinion, it depends on industries. the answer is right the opposite in fields like textile! while other industries like medicine and mechanic seem to be taking on prosperity.

Replying to [gzsupplier]: Fairs are required, this is because you can find many suppliers in one place and also you can see new product launches, I dont thing the number of visitors going down, yes some sectors like Computer hardware products, which used to dominate in Canton Fair has vanished due to low margin and visitors from this industry has also come down, as its a waste to go to any fair for Computer Hardware products.

Replying to [nalavade]:well there are lots of fairs of computer hardware around the world.It is true that the profit is less than before because there are more and more manufacture appearance.But I think the technical production would got mor than the one are produced by many manufactruer.I think most the technic are control by the company out of Chian.But now China is developing its own technique, we are waiting the time the technical production appearance.

Replying to [gzsupplier]: I dont know if is irrelevant but you can find suppliers that i can`t find in the web. But there are many opportunities to make bussines in this way (online), but delay to make specific bussines.

Replying to [gzsupplier]:no. i do not share your feelings. i like to go to fairs to see what is new, hot and to examine closely merchandise i like to buy and market. being there is totally different.

yes i agree with that Canton fair is less attractive than before. I think it is because internet provide more efficient and extensive information platform comparing with a fair also it is no time and season limit.
