What percent should you negotiate price down in China?

Hi,

Looking for advice on negotiating a textile product in China to be exported to the US. Was quoted $25 each item at 1000 units FOB. This price seemed high to start. What would be the average price reduction a buyer  would counter offer?

Also for sample products would you still negotiate the price down and/or negotiate shipping fees?

Dear sir or madam.

I read your Forum on Alibaba. I   think the price need according to so many sides ,like  material , the way you know the market (both yours and foreign country) ,also related to the freight  and also your target price.

For the samples ,if the the Value is not very high,the supplyer  always use fee sample and buyer to pay the express fee!

I also don't so much about it ,hope these will be a little help to you !

That depend on what type of material  of textile you are dealing with ?
How intricate of weaving and finishing you requested?
Last sampling are required only when you are satisfy with the pricing and material.
Depend on the urgency of your sample it can arrive by courier or snail mail.

It all depends on the type of materials, the quantity ordered and the size of the factory. I have been in textile industry forever, having worked both for companies in China and companies in US. I currently reside in Atlanta, GA.

That depend on how deep you know this line,you can send your products to other to get more quotation for comparsion.which can give probable price.

i think you should accept resonable price,that is good for long term good business,too low price can harm the cooperation.

sir,what's your item ? some kind of item would cost a lot ,so it is need to charge sample fee, but some would not, usually, if the item is not expensive, we would provide it free,but client should pay for the express fee. to confirm the price ,you can surf the internet, the marketing is very clearly on line nowadays.

Hallo, they are additional ways to earn money and some chinese companies for example Anhui Hummer  arrange  and book  transport for You  and You have to pay irrational price for this service  , try to arrange transport with Your forwarder, You can get lower prices but then You have to three times more for transport and the price paid for the product is higher
