Visiting the supplier in person or appointing an agent is by far the safest option, no matter from which country the supplier is. Also if you can afford an inspection of the goods before shipment it's the best option. After all if you receive substandard goods you will have to handle returns, it's much better to be safe, spend a bit more by using an agent, than being sorry.
