Lots of suppliers on Alibaba make it difficult to place a simple order !

There is often no transparency from suppliers

Many customers do send messages to several suppliers, for ex. I do when I make inquiries. This way I compare the product range, quality, conditions and price, of course, of different suppliers. I read through the range, discuss with the suppliers and end up with the cheapest&confidential one. Unfortunately, the other ones are usually just left behind since I've got several dozens of messages per day and answering to all for last two weeks would take all my time.

A seller should acknowledge that there WILL be several inquirers per actual order. As a wholesaler I receive several inquiries a day and only a few of them will end up deal. I do not wonder or get angry of it - everybody does ask for an offer and trial for the best price and conditions.I REALLY wonder if somebody actually gets fired because of somebody just ended up asking the price not making a deal. Inquiry don't mean order. We can receive many inquires, but we should stand in client's shoes, they also receive many replies from suppliers.

Indeed, many reasons, the payment term, good quality, price, etc.
Good luck to you!

Hi, When you do get an order do you ask yourself why you got it? what you did right? I am sure you do not, but that's what you should be doing to keep trying to improve your sales.

Don't worry about things you cannot change, for you do not know the reason someone doesn't buy . Follow up emails asking why they didn't buy only annoy buyers that might be keeping you in mind for future purchases.
As a potential customer I am looking for the right mix of product, price, quantity and delivery options for my particular market. I know my market and I base my decision on that knowledge, the supplier does not necessarly know my market and may therefore not understand my decision not to proceed with an order, dont take it personally, it's business.

An example of why I wouldn't continue with an enquiry is if I requested prices and moq. from various suppliers and I received an email with just a price or just the moq. then I most likely would not go any further. if the supplier didn't take the time to read what I needed why would I bother.

If you want to send a follow up email then Thank them for the enquiry & just say that you hope the information you provided was what they needed and to contact you if they required anything further. keep things simple

I agree with what others have said "DON'T GIVE UP" enjoy you job it will get better as you gain more contacts and experience.
regards

The efforts you are investing in trying to sell, will be worthwhile.
you just have to keep in touch with those you have send them you offers.
sometimes it takes time, but then again, don't give up.
Due to our checking, it takes no less then 7 different mails until you start doing a business real connection.
Good luck
