Currently i am marketing a free sample i got from a supplier andthe results are very positive. if you dont have a sample most of your customers don't buy easily. So i kanow free samples arevworth it and i would advice exporters to give out samples to buyers BUT THE BUYER SHOULD MEET THE FREIGHT COSTS.

Replying to [tonythangwa]:Well, we sell food products so its imperative that we send samples to the interested party so that they can taste them. So far, our success is around 80%.. but in most cases the buyer covers freight cost.

Hallo all,
NO dought that free samples will increase the flow of samples between dealers, but there is a big risk that "fake" buyers are damagging the business. Again no dought that samples (1pcs) are of great interest for our company but it does't make the differens if we have to pay for them, however if the min samples number are 5 or 10 pcs it starts to make a diferance. 5 or 10pcs. of to pure quality is absolut wast of the buyers money, and quality minded buyers will of cause not risk to sell even at low low price.

YES.IT IS WORTH SENDING THE SAMPLE TO THE BUYER.UNLESS HE SEES THE SAMPLE AND CONFORM THE QUALITY,IT IS DIFFICULT TO FINALISE THE ORDER.BUT IT IS BETTER IF THEY BEAR THE FREIGHT CHARGES.

For us, we will provide either a free of charge samples to customer but they have to bear the shipment cost (like DHL, FedEx); OR they pay us the samples charge and we provide them door to door samples. Thus, we will not provide samples to
It is because the business is "two-way". If importor / buyer interested in our products and wants to develop their own market, they must be willing to invest small money to see the market first. If the importor everything in free of charge, I'm sure this is not a worth business as they may just ask the samples for fun.

Yes, it is worth it. But of course this is possible only on items that are not shall we say costly. Like for example, optical cables, the market in general has a a policy of evaluating the technical specifications of the material or the cable if it conforms with the
standards local or international. If ti conforms and evaluation result is
approved and the price is right, you ahve a greater chance of an order
and repeat orders as well. Your market is ensured that you are delivering products as you advertised.

Replying to [Golddust]: It depends upon the type of product, its price and its estimated ordered quantity. Please note that you shall not pay the freight charges so that your sample may only do in the hands of only those who are willing to purchase it.
While sending such samples please note that you shall have a sound knowledge about the background of the person/company you are sending to.

It Depands on the products and price , if you have set aside an amount for Marketing and advertising, then you should allow free samples, I don't mean expensive goods , white goods , electrical, electronic , anything under $5
you could never say you might get a big order.
