China's trade decline narrowed more sharply than expected in September, in line with a pickup in some export-reliant Asian nations, as the slowly recovering world economy helped exports and Beijing's stimulus program boosted imports of raw materials.

Economists said China's export recovery, which was broad-based in September, will likely continue in coming months because of demand from China's biggest trading partners, the U.S. and the European Union. Imports of goods such as iron ore will also continue to pick up because of Beijing's stimulus program, they added.

But some economists warned that one-time factors, such as more work days this September than in the same month last year due to the timing of the National Day holiday and companies rebuilding stocks of raw materials, likely distorted the September data.
