hello to every one. i own a import-export-trading company and work mostly in Europe. lately i got a contract for one costumer located in Iran who wants to buy goods from China for amount of 25-million$ and i am trying to find a way to make this trade payment because Iran in under embargo and restriction so it will be difficult. As i work usually between European companies i have never had this international payment issue. could you help me to find out what would be the right way to do this payment? LC ? T/T? and anybody know which bank would confirm LCs from Iran? i am sure other companies in Iran import goods from other companies in the word so what would be they payment method? i will truly appreciate any advise or help. thank you in advance.

Generally speaking,If Lc,they may not refure to make payment, but slowly. You have to wait,
So I advise TT is better.
We usually 50 % in advance and another 50% before shipment.

Hello,
We have several Iran customers. And we usually require 30 deposit T/T, and 70% balance to be settled before loading cargos.
We seldom accept L/C, it is much complicated for us and our customers. And our Iran customers also accept T/T in advance.
But as the first transaction, they would sometimes accept L/C. And what exactly do you mean? Will you tell me more about it, cause' I am not quite sure what you refer to.

I have done business with Iran in the past... The best practice is 50% Deposit and balance due prior to shipment. Let me know if you are looking for a reliable contact to facilitate the deal.

I also prefer 30% deposit by TT, and settle the balance before the shipment. Iran is on the sanction country list of both U.S. and UN which is high risk, so most of the western banks are prohibited to provide confirmation for Iranian L/C. Long time before, it might be possible to negotiate USD L/C through some European Banks which are related with Iran, but now it is impossible as nearly all the european banks conducted the similar financial control and management with U.S.

Yes Fully agree with guys mentioned 50% advance & 50% before shipment or against fax copy of B/L OR otherwise 30% advance & 70% before shipment or against fax copy of B/L.
