Please can anybody help me. I import from China and sell online Pure Silk bedding in the UK. But when I started to place bigger orders all my problems began! I was told the silk bedding is under Quota Control.......or not?

I can't find a straight answer - does importer of pure silk bedding to the UK need import License? Is the Silk bedding items under Quota Control?

If somebody can help me with this matter I will be very grateful!

What they probably mean is that their access to raw silk is under quota control. Silk production is still controlled and prices are regulated by the central government who even today is still the exclusive buyer of all silk cocoons.

Perhaps you need to fins a second supplier?

The import licence is the term given when uk customs clears your consignment at home, it has nothing to do with the ability of a chinese company to produce
