Words - impact
Post 1 of 3

Guys,

I have read some of the company profiles in the 'about me' column, and some of the postings made. There are some words which can be more impactive and attract the reader's eye, which can replace those written.

Please find below some samples, which to my opinion can be more virulent if changed to the ones on the Right.

Use enhanced effects to attract attention. Programs such as JavaScript, Java, ShortWave, Flash, Animated GIF, and so on.

Be creative in your messages, use some graphics (beware of those systems which block out grphics). Comply with their rules and key into the Source format the enhancements.

Do use Hyperlinks from your emails to your HOME PAGE. - that is the power of the email message. You can use a feedback to your OUTLOOK if the addressee opens the mail, but this has to depend on him/her to send the feedback message through his/her account, which most people would not, unless there is an incentive to do so.

You can also do Mass Emailing and escape the SPAM Block by mailbox filters, by doing one-on-one emailing or placing the copies in the BCC (Block Carbon Copy)column. This is good practise, as you do not want the receiver to know that you have sent to a long list of email addresses, including him. This is also for the protection of commercial interests, as your competitor may know the email addresses in your mailing list, which some of them could point out the company names whom you sent.

Personalise your emails, make it as a one-to-one communication. Address the person and do it correct, if he is PhD holder, address him as Dr. So and so. If s/he is a judge in court, as Your honor, (US English) Your Honour (GB English). A guy, always as Mr. (the family name) and a lady as Ms. or Miss. Family names of Europe and America, are the last names, E.g. Joseph Smith, and the first name is Joseph, never address him as Mr. Joseph, but as Mr. Smith. If you have spoken to him, and gone into a personal level of communication with him, then you can address him as : Joseph only.

Never take short cuts in email writings. E.g. Tnk U for your msg. This is bad, because the receiver thinks that you are lazy, and would not deal with lazy people. Do not send SMS for your quotation, unless it is a repeat of your offer already given by email or by fax.

The song by Bee Gees, entitled
 "WORDS"  lyrics goes like this:

Smile an everlasting smile, a smile can bring you
Near to me.
Dont ever let me find you down, cause that would
Bring a tear to me.
This world has lost its glory, lets start a brand
New story now, my love.
Right now, therell be no other time and I can show
You how, my love.

Talk in everlasting words, and dedicate them all to
Me.
And I will give you all my life, Im here if you
Should call to me.
You think that I dont even mean a single word i
Say.
Its only words, and words are all I have, to take
Your heart away

The forgiving people say: "Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can do neither."  The truth is Words can do even greater things. The words of Sir Winston Churchill persisted the will of Great Britain to defend her sky space against the German Luffwarf air raid bombings in London. Words can be more damaging or reassuring than sticks and stones.
