Does EMS give tracking number when the item is shipped?

I have ordered some rings from a wholesale supplier, I payed via PayPal, And they said they shipping the items but they don't have the tracking number yet, I would like to know if this is a possible scam? I thought that the tracking number was given immediately when the item is sent to the shipping company (EMS). so I would like to know if they recieve it immediately or if it takes a while.

tracking number will be available as soon as EMS picks up products,you can track from their official website

when the worker are collecting the parcel.we should have the tracking # from them.
if they told u they didn't have. it's not true.
also once we have sent out parcel. you can have the tracking # list on the website.
maybe you can asking them is it they have sent out the parcel or not.
or did they still not ready on the parcle for send out ?
