Anyone can tell me what benefits the Gold Suppliers?


If Free Members can also get big orders, put up a site with pictures, advertisements, Trade Leads, Sell leads and products, and have a message board, as free of charge, what makes them different from the Gold Supplier? Maybe they are not verified by Alibaba third party, but that is not really deters would be buyers from trying to get things from them.


Many of them are scams, and in fact ffor some countries, it is very near to 100% of the Free Members are fake. But why is this allowed to continue, would it be a black sheep to Alibaba's fold?

1. Part of the value of Gold Supplier membership comes from the authentication and verification process demonstrating to fellow members that your company is serious about doing business with them. According to our survey, most buyers choose to trade ONLY with verified members.

2. As a Gold Supplier member, you may post unlimited products and Selling Leads whereas free members can only display up to 50 products. And displaying products has proven the most effective way of trading on Alibaba.com.

3. As a paid member, you may set 3 keywords for each product listing. Free members, however, can only set 1 keyword for each product. The more keywords you have, better the chance of being listed in buyers’ searches.

4. As a Gold Supplier member, you may respond to the latest Buying Leads while free members can only check those 7 days after they are published. In the competitive market, you have the first and best opportunity to contact the buyers.

5. Generally, Gold Suppliers are listed above free members in buyers’ searches.

I think the difference of gold mmember and free member is as follows:
1.You can get more orders.
2.Buyers would like to do business with Gold supplier more than free member, for the gold supplier have been vertifily by third company.
3.Gold supplier can post unlimilted products.

We have two accounts, one is free, another is gold, I know the different between this two accounts alought we can still get orders from free accounts now.

Just to clarify, there are two types of Gold Pass members, the domestic and the International. The domestic Gold Supplier status is given to members in China only, and they pay much higher fees than the International class.

Tell me why do you ask this question? You are a Free Member, and has always been since day 1.


This answer is not for me to give, because we do not receive official quotes for the price of International Gold membership fees from Alibaba Sales yet. However, they have informed all would-be Trust Pass members or Free Members to upgrade into Gold Members with some positive and negative perks and sales gimmicks, like you will be upgraded to Gold Member effective in July, and the new GS fees will be US$3K.... and so on.


The initial change of status brought some enquiries, but almost 80% or more are from non-genuine and non-related people or companies, lots of them from scams. Slowly, the number of request for quotations decline, and every inquiry, we determined to quote, and ask them to send to our external emails, which most of them never did. This shows that they are not genuine inquiries, maybe some one trying to find out prices from the competitors, and some are non-existing companies, they are individuals looking for opportunity to make money out of nothing.


So, in closing, I don't know how much will the rise in fees, and if the rise is 6 times more than what we are paying for Trust Pass, I don't think it is helping in our business to remain as Gold member, as the status quo is unchanged, only the name. Wilhelm, you have been here long enough to know this, just as I am. You are doing great work to help scam victims, and avoid some of them from being scammed, without any rewards or expectation for returns, which I take my hat out to you. Because your reward will be in heaven.
