Micrometer

Often measuring a material or surface’s thickness is a checkpoint we include in our special inspection criteria. Generally, if an item or material’s thickness is found outside of the set tolerance from a small inspection sample drawn, it’s cause for alarm and we will help our clients to investigate further.Although digital calipers are fine for measuring an item whose thickness is consistent right up to the edge, for surfaces with a lip, rim, or bevel on the edge you should use a micrometer.Make sure your QC team is using the right tools and that they are calibrated properly to avoid any mistakes.
