The key to a successful online sales company is like the same as the former "brick and mortar" shop-front store - human traffic.
Twenty years ago, some members of a church started a business. They got a shop in the shopping mall of Singapore's Golden Belt, the Orchard Road District. There was a store front for rent, and it is on the level 4, of a building along Scotts Road, which is linked to the heart of town and Orchard Road. There was great promise for a successful business, they had the product, and a ready clientele, the church members. The American missionary pastor had a secret recipe of health food,deserts and drinks, and the group promised to give back a tenth of their earnings. Surmons were interrupted by a catch phrase or plea to the members, advertising the shop' products.
One year later, it went under water with debts and losses, people who quit their jobs and joined the "company" were disappointed by the poor sales, all the promises were not fulfilled, and the graduate economist who brain-stormed this project did a post-mortum. He said that there was very little human traffic on Level 4. Most of the crowds are at ground level, some at level 2 and fewer at level 3. It was no surprise that this business should fail, because of the lack of business acumen. To conclude, it was human traffic.
The same principle applies to online business, it is human traffic, hit rates, stickyness, and interactive websites that draws the crowd. You got to be Internet Savvy enough to do online business, Web Advertising and to capture a positive-minded audience.
Alibaba is a very good platform for such promotion over the Internet. I am not pening my words by mere flattery, neither am I affiliated to Alibaba except that I am a Gold Pass member. I made this test to prove it that what I am saying is true. The subject of this posting is "Digital is my name; Portable is my game". Try out the search engines, Googles, then Alta Vista, and Yahoo, and MSN Search for your self with the subject as your key words. You will find this posting on the first page of your search results. This has proved that Alibaba is a very useful tool to Internet Marketing.

Today, it is beginning to turn out on the list of Search Engines Googles: 3rd on the list, and Dogpile, 10th on the list.


You can test your hit rate in Search engine by typing key words E.g. "Digital is our name .."


Thank you for your attention, and this proves my assumption that Alibaba Forum is good way to promote yourself, because Alibaba has very high hit rates, and is on top of the preferred list of the Search Engine Spiders.


Statements like Alibaba is the best B2B site is just sweeping without any concrete evidence, and I have this experience and experiment to prove it.
