Why China prefers TTs?
Post 1 of 232
Most Chinse shy away from L/C mode of payment when entering negotiations and insist on T/T mode[em24]
Is it ignorence? Is itFear Of Unknown or plain lack of Confidence?
Or they can not meet deadlines of delivery inherent in L/C terms? Feb 16, 2007 Dear Friends, To-day , eleven months after I post this topic, i can feel proud that a large number of members have put forward their views, some of which are really thought provoking. Let us now start thinking and suggesting what are ways and alternatives to this trade barrier of sorts, so that more trade is encouraged and everyone feels secure. Sixer

As we know L/C will need charge and even L/C at sight it still needs at least 1 month. If the amount is a little we have to pay high charge .troublesome. T/T is a little fast.
You have your own favourite but you cant say others are ignorant or lack of knowledge . How can we know your credit? How can we know your policy? If it is small amount it is not worthing L/C.

HI

I don't agree with you . why you associated Chinese present trade practice with their past. chinese is diligent and brave to face their themselve. what's more, although it's not good for buyer , most of chinese really think it is just simple to finish a deal, maybe some chinese have some interpretation of terms of L/C problem. but it will be overcomed as the increasing of globlelization . so every people has their language problem , just like you may don't know chinese language. so please look chinese sales objectively and correctly.

hi

what about your country's seller, Do they all like take risks and let the oppositing party have no risks . everyone want to protect themselves when they don't know the results. if you think they think too much for themselves , you can insist on your terms payment and change them.

It is sharing the risk and responsibility to perform that matters most in fair dealings.
