Identifying the businessman ?

Dear members,
I am dealing with Indonesian company in Bali, I have to pay T/T for our importing products, So How can I trust to this businessman? I asked from Embassy in our country but could not reach to reasonable answer.
Please advise me for this problem.

You can pay TT, but should negotiate that you pay a part on giving the order (usually a downpayment of 30% to 50% of the total value), and the remainder when you have received the Bill of Lading, which is proof of shipment.

Get everything reference from and including business company
get business certificate from him.
ask for photo indentity. ask him don't want to fall into wrong person
see if u can fax him. if not could be scam
check to see if he got website on alibaba. if disappered then ..it is scammed.
this way i do have photo indentity from every legit sellers [em1][em1][em1]
u do not have to hurried to pay him now. it may take awhile.
keep contacting ane emailing all times.

If you have any friends in his country, ask him/her help check, or appoint an agent to do it.

Replying to [negar]: DearNegar, as has been stated the only way that you can guarantee what you are paying for is what you are going to get is to do:
1) Irrevocable L/C on goods Landed. If he wishes to do business then this is very nhard to argue with. The L/C must be honored via a reputable international Bank that you and he can trust.
2) Utilise an International shipping Company that is based in Bali as your shipper. Buy the goods as FOB and payment when they are ready to load for your shipper then you can have verification and have access to the B/L. All this can be tied up by Contract.

Wouldn't you much rather deal through a china based agent.[em2]

Replying to [negar]: well ask for the help of some attornies in the that particular country. other best safest option is Bank letter of credit or bank guarantee. i do not advise you to go for TT
