Here is a way that people usual use:

search the suppliers you prefer to deal with, and send one to visit them, check their company or factory, so you can completely know how your supplier's situation is. this is something more than trust.

Most suppliers would like to make the business in the fair and normal way, so you neednot worry too much from my thougt. I am the supplier and i only want to make business smooth and i dont have any idea of bringing trouble to my customer. And i believe most suppliers have the similar idea with me

you can increase your order q'ty step by step.
at first of course order q'ty is very small.
and eventhough it's so small order, if they are
trustly act, you can trust them.

In my opinion,it will take a time to trade smoothly between your two parties.

But you can try to know your supplier as many as you can before you start to do business.You can email,call,visit...and start a small trial order to your supplier first.If your supplier can follow what they promise,I think they are a good supplier than worthy of your confidence.

On my opinion custmer feedback will give a clear picture about the particular supplier. On Supplier business ground they have to include their loyal custers feedback coloum agiant him. I think this is the best way
