I am importing textile machines from Shenzhen, china. I have just made the payment through bank transfer. How long it will take to reach the ship to india once they ship to Nhavasheva, mumbai. How many days for clearance at Shenzhen and clearing the same good after paying duties at Nhavasheva, india.

What is the detail documents that will be sended to me by the supplier and what are the documents i should have to clear my goods safely.

Ideally when you are importing goods,you should ask the shipper when will the material be loaded for shipment. First the goods are cleared by agent and then loaded when vessel is available. You should ask ETA Mumbai(Expected time of arrival to Mumbai )to shipper.

You can do it now too.

After the goods are loaded,the agent provides copies of Bill of Lading(B/L) to shipper. Ideally he should courier you the B/L. Tell him to Courier Commercial Invoice and Packing list too. You can take this documents to your agent in Mumbai. The B/L will have address and contact info of shipping line for correspondence in Mumbai. Contact them for more details.

One another thing, i told my supplier to provide the goods insurance from his factory loading to my factory unloading, would it be possible, they will give it to me. or not.
