Post 1 of 3
Hi,

I would like to know whether there is any fixed and standard format for Commercial Invoice and Packing List for the the purpose of export documentation. If yes, then what is the source to procure the same ?

There is no specific format but there are common fields. For example,
an invoice (made out on your letterhead) will show the buyer's name & address, bank info (if applicable), model no./item no., short description, quantity,
unit price, total, incoterm, etc.

You can google "sample invoice"/"sample packing list"/ etc to get
a better idea of how these documents look and how they work.
From an Indian exporter's perspective, maybe you would need to follow certain specific guidelines when preparing your documents.
Check with your local chamber of commerce or a fellow Indian exporter.

Hope this helps.

The commercial invoice is completely customizable by exporters, however it should for export purposes have all the important information, of seller, buyer, final destination, unit prices and description, incoterms, payment terms, hs codes , etc.

For Canada, the Canada Customs Invoice is required and this has fields for all of the information needed to successfully customs clear a product.

If you would like to obtain the documents please just send me a message.
