Hi,

i am in the process of getting 2000 tshirts printed and sent over from china and this is my first time dealing with an overseas business/import

I have been given a CNF cost and am lead to beleive taht the only costs i need to worry about now are m end; import duty/vat courier from uk port (dover) to my address. is this correct.

what sort of costs on top of what i have been quoted from the supplier should i be looking at?

any help, especially from anyone who has done the same would be much appreciated!

Yes, since the delivery terms are CNF Dover, you basically only have
to worry about import duty/VAT and transportation of goods from the
port to your warehouse or office. Consider storage costs if you do not
have large enough premises.

Also, there will be incidental charges:
(a) Bank charges, if documents are negotiated thru a bank.
(b) Shipping company/forwarder charges: paying the shipping company/forwarder a certain amount when exchanging the B/L for a delivery order.

Since this is your first deal, keeping a "buffer" will help you. At the end of the day, if you do not end up paying too much,
it all goes into your profit.

Hope this helps.
