seems to me that the only way forward for the system to work properly is a real security system to be impossed and all who use the site forced to use it better checks for sellers and buyers alike maybe a way to actualy gain trust like building your profile the only way to do it is by full succesful transactions instead of paying 3000 whatever currency to have a gold seller badge picture eg i bought a flying helmet but it doesnt mean im a pilot mr gong lawyer how do we know you arnt a scammer no offence intended but lets be relistic i could say i would hold funds for transactions but it doesnt mean im going to pay it some of the best scams out thier are being played by so called legal officials so lets some up until alibaba gets its suecurity sorted dont just chuck your money at these criminals use a properly recognised escrow company such as paypal or at least one that is recognised so buyer beware and scammers dont even bother to answer my mails as i will report you alibaba get your security sorted please as it ruins what is otherwise an excelant site

After all this, I can say they do a good job when verifying. Furthermore, for those are in the business for a while; you might be able to smell scammers when they come to you : Hi Friend!
