It is a good subject. However, let me also add some points to it.
In this modern trend of fast business world...no one has the time to read all the attractive introductions andf blah blah blah.
So if you are a supplier, give
the name of your company, website and contact details whatever you have such as msn, skype, Alibaba..e-mail etc.
introduce the goods..and highlight your main products and give a brief price reference in FOB or to the cnf of the person to whom you are sending.
If the buyer feels the price is somewhere closer to his range..immediately they will contact..if the buyer ask for a reference in his country...and if you are a genuine supplier please give...they will never cross check with them..because no buyer will like to expose his source of supply to another competitor directly. They will buy sample and confirm your standard.
This will help you in many ways...because since lot of fraudulant companies are cheating the oversease buyers, your such information will help build an immediate confidence in the mind of buyer. You will find a positive approach from him thereafter.
Always try to implement a two way ivestigative system about prices. That is, once you build up a very good relationship with your buyer...whether he buy from you or not..ask them about their market price of your products..then compare with your cost and add the margin to keep your price in minimum and then market it without any competition. This would help you to sell more of your products. If you try to find the average selling price of your country market. and fix the price..sometimes it could be not feasible to someother country.
Try to be more friendly, don't loose your temper or try to be sarcastic even if the buyer ask for very low price...politely refuse..
If you are prepared for these points..you can contact me also..because ..I am also a buyer..and these are from the point of veiw of a buyer...
Good Luck..
