Hi

I have the perfect toy and supplier

Now I would like to import it to the USA  - what are the step to do so ?

What do I need to do in term of toy safety?

Do they have regulation / test that I will need to pass?

How do I know if the lab  that I have make all the test in  - is acknowledged in the USA

Do you know any company that this is there specialty ?

Thank you

Karin

Most of the relevant regulations here are going to be regulations at your end so you need to check with your local authorities as to what is required.

In many cases to get approval for products you will need to provide an accredited company or government department with samples of the product and pay a large fee for them to assess those products. In some cases you HAVE to do this, while in other cases it is ADVISABLE to do this.

As the importer you are resposible for the products in your market so regardless of what promises the supplier may give you, it is up to you to determine that the product meets your countries requirements.

For some products the Chinese government Customs wil require the exporter to provide documentation to show that the products meet certain standards.

Toys and electrical goods are product areas that I think are best avoided unless you have good experience with importing products as there are so many things that can go wrong and the repercussions can be huge!!
