Hi,

My name is Geta and i'm trying to open a shop in Finland - selling clothes, bags and accessories. Since my business is rather small, importing directly from China wouldn't be profitable. I have tried to ask Chinese suppliers who export to Europe about their biggest European buyers, but the most frequent response is: 'We offer good shipment prices, you should import directly from us'. This is out of the question for me, because the costs would be too high. I have tried looking on-line for European wholesellers of Chinese products, but I simply can't trace any. I am running out of ideas and time... Could someone give me some constructive ideas? Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Many thanks in advance,

Geta

I can tell you what is the situation in Eastern Europe. The biggest market on the Balcan peninsula is located in Sofia, Bulgaria and it all the distributors from Serbia, Macedonia, Romania and some from Greece come here to buy clothes, shoes, toys and accessories. The wholesale prices are really good, and the market is growing constantly, adding new warehouses. If you find some contacts here who can sell clothes to you, it will be good start for your business.

Thank you very much! I am a Romanian that lives in Finland now, so this might be something that I could investigate... It's not ideal (because it's quite far away from Finland) but it's a start! :)

If you are looking for wholesalers of Chinese goods per se then you may not find what you are looking for as many wholesalers do not want to openly disclose the source of their products. The other issue is that most importers concentrate on specific products rather than Chinese goods in general.

Perhaps if you find actual items that you would like to buy and then concentrate your search on those particular items.
