Want to buy goods online but worry about scammers? Want to make sure that you only pay for goods that you ordered? All you need is a third-party escrow service to help ensure your online transactions are safe and secure!

What is Escrow?

Escrow is a term applied to any service that offers to hold money or goods until all parties in a transaction are satisfied that all terms and conditions have been met. Escrow services are becoming popular online because both buyers and suppliers are demanding better safety and security for their transactions.

Buyers do not want to send full payment only to receive nothing or faulty goods in return. Suppliers do not want to send their products only to receive part or no payment at all.

Escrow companies act as a third-party referee, holding payment from buyers but not releasing the money to suppliers until the buyer confirms delivery. Escrow companies also notify suppliers when payment has been made so they know it’s safe to ship the buyer’s order.

How does Escrow Work?

For Buyers
Buying online through an escrow service is a safe way to protect your payments. After placing your order online, make your payment to an escrow company using a credit card or your account in a bank. The escrow company holds the payment and only releases payment to the supplier after you have confirmed delivery.

For Suppliers
Selling online through an escrow service is a safe way to ensure your payments are protected. The escrow company will notify you when the buyer has made payment and will hold the money for you. After payment is confirmed, you are safe to ship the order. Once the buyer has confirmed delivery, the escrow company will release payment direct into your account in a bank.

In China even the law trade is newly building up this kind of Escrow service, we lawyers name it as an Entrustment Work which is recognized by the China Civil Law.

In today's trade, due to the fact that there is too much fraud by China scammers, escrow is a kind of safe trading measure for sure. But it can increase cost and cut down the trade transaction speed.

So still, it is very important to find a good and honest supplier. If you do not want to do escrow, you can still hire a lawyer to check the supplier, to stay beside the supplier and make it unable to cheat.

Unfortunetly my concern as Geniune Supplier is there is no protection for us 'Safepay Step 4' Buyers confirm satisfactory delivery.

Imagine after I received the order I shipped goods to the buyer's address but buyer claims not to receive it or unsatisfy for any reason and return it after damaging it.

If the buyer is not satisfied with the goods the idea of escrow is that the BUYER has to pay to send your goods back around the world before he gets his money back. Why would a buyer order something, damage it and mail it back to you? That would cost a lot of money for nothing. Escrow is designed to be a lose-lose situation if something goes wrong so both parties is interested in doing clean business. Buyers can't wire transfer money the first time they deal with suppliers because of the amount of scamers around alibaba.

the escrow service is the only way to bring the fraud to a complete stop , then if seller refuses to use escrow service , the buyer knows he is fraudulent...prices on both ends will be affected but this is the cost of business , as for alibaba...they are a company also & by allowing scammers to continue to do business on their site they accumulate liability cases against them..i have recently attempted a small  order with a uniontogether representative who has stalled at least 4 days since payment to give tracking #'s & now have #'s & they do not appear to be valid. fortunately for me was not large order..told rep before i ordered would be "test" order to confirm their validity...if no order then they would be hounded to the grave by blog after blog(i have no job & too much time on my hands..lol)...i have a very good cure for the scammers on this site & to limit alibaba liability...a simple listing...blog after blog on each company to show their erroneous business practices to all who will research the issue..i have found little info about the actual culprits , but much on the fact the problem exist..come on alibaba , get on the ball & actually give us some info to help us pull the freaking weeds out of your beautiful flower bed...thank you

I have used paypal also on many occassions.. I felt safe because of their buyers protection policy, until recently!!!! I made a purchase on ebay which the item never arrived. I have since placed all relivant complaints to both ebay and paypal and was esculated to a claim. Investigations into my claim proved me in favour but I was never offered their buyers protection money back offer.I have sent 2 messages to paypal in relation to them offering me this as I am totally eligable but they ignored me and my request!

Dear Mr Gonglawyer

Iam, agree with you the most effective way in trade is the speed of transection and the bilateral confidence between all partners But to have a lawyer as this is Luxus and potent project ,But what is the cost of the lawyer compare with some smaløl orders which we dealing with her .Seconed whats the most effective method to verify that this person who act as a lawyer is really lawyer and not a part of Fraud team .The columna of trade is safety and confidance and if the tendence in online trading are going toward only suspesions this will surely block the progress of online trade sector to develope which iam sure many companies in china depends on .I think most of the poeple who trading online with china are dealing with small orders othorwise the big dealer have their represantatives in china .So i hope you can advise us about the cost and verifying method for a lawyer in China .
