I think the reliable supplier isn't the one only can provide you with goods on time, but the one that can provide you with high quality goods at the same time. Maybe during the cooperation, there will be some mistakes, but they never avoid solving it, on the contrary, they will try their best to deal with it and express their good idea to their clients. It isn't the excuse, but it is a time to understanding the reality.
High quality and good service should be our tenet.

This might be a general answer
but people, - NO, alibaba is NOT 99% scammers
its the other way around - its 99% good guys, 1% scammers
while i have not personally done a lot here - i have multiple friends who have highly recommended this platform
remember though, that you have to do your homework as scammers are present everywhere
the best things to do to check for scammers would be
1. order a sample piece to check them out
2. google their name followed by scam or scammer - and see if anything pops up
3. try a few medium sized orders - and see if they deliver
4. look them up on company listing directories and the like
remember, dont let a few bad eggs ruin the fruits for everyone

oh yes - i just remembered i forgot a few important things
1. check their prices to make sure they dont appear too low
2. dont use methods of payment like western union where there is no security or backup - try and use credit cards
and read as much as you can about other methods
