Almost from the later last year, due to International Fiancial Crisis, the Chinese export goes down, the international trading business effect the forwarder companies directly.

Many forwarder companies is bankrupt in the shipping market from the end of 2008, things are not better until June in 2009. Where is the bright way for Chinese international forwarder company?

the majority of exports from China to the western world are on FOB terms, which means that the chinese suppliers do not control the shipping method. Chinese freight forwarders therefore need to have strong partners in the destination countries and do their utmost to obtain an exclusive agency with a good partner, who will actively sell the service at destination.

Chinese forwarders who do not have their own w/wide offices have to start sending a lot of leads to their partners and follow up with an actual sales visit to that country.

European and North American forwarders are hurting too, so anyone that sends leads, replies the same day, and does not charge nonsense ancillary fees probably would be welcome.
