For a long time, I feel a little bit upset.

While trying to do business with Indian businessmen I met very big problems, some of them I suddenly lose contact with them: they avoided talking to me or just igored me...

I believe there'll be more Chinese businessmen have problem when trading with Indian.

I want to know why however i was not able to manage it.

Could anybody here tell me something about Indian businessmen, their way of doing business, their thinking of Chinese businessmen, and also, why they donnot like to discuss in the forum?

Dear Friend,

You know it is always problem with india and china in every field.

But you make sure that what ever you offer should be clearly defined and understand the requirement of buyer.

If you make your self clear and give them rock bottom price i hope you will do business.

One way other is that if you will not able to do let me know i will do for you.

Dear Friend, problems of this nature do occur at times regardless of ethnicity or countrywood on the people we deal with, when wavelengths of the parties concerned, take erratic movements all of a sudden. Moreso with Indians who are sensitive about their business and its relationship. I can quote an example here that I have come across very recently. One of the Chinese agents who was scouting for supply of Urea to a Vietnamese buyer was progressing well with an Indian agent half-way through when suddenly the shipping terms were insisted upon DDU terms (Delivered Duty Unpaid) as against the originally agreed CIF terms. This deal had ultimately collapsed paving way for considerable wastage of time on both the Indian and Chinese agents. As a result of which further queries/calls from the Chinese person were turned down by his Indian counterpart. I am just citing an example which in no way should be deemed as generalised about other prospective business people. Proper understanding, clear terms of trade and transparency about other trade costs like agency commission, levies if any are to be clearly spelt before embarking on finalisation of any deal. I can understand the agony and pain you would have undergone with some people. But all the fingers are not alike, you see. Wish you the best trade experiences henceforth and in the days to come. Regards, S.Baskaran, Chennai, India.

As a Chinese I may say most of us cannot well understand Indian people's idea and feeling, esp. in the aspect of trade. That is a problem many businesses are ought to be success but fail become of culture problem.

What we should do, and also alibaba should do, is let the two side know each other better and communicate more!

I really learn a lot from the above 2 answers. Thank you!

The main reason is the T & C of business.

Chinese firm want 100% TT. They quote the price high. Some times they don't have the products and when client approach to them, then only come to know that they don't have correct product.

Besides this these days the market is very low. Price in both the countries almost same.

I was in China for four years and now I am back to India. I know both the country culture and all. It should not be mixed with business.
