You wouldn't use them together?
They are two different methods of transportation.

FOB it is the buyers duty to nominate a vessel at a port for shipment, incurring the costs of carriage.

CIF it is for the sellers responsibility to cover all costs, insurance and freight for the purpose of carriage.

FOB Mother Vessel, I ASSUME just means FOB 'Names Vessel'.

Ie FOB Rust Bucket at Antwerp.

Whats the context you have seen it?

FOB means Free On Board, CIF is Cost, Insurance and Freight

What is the context you have seen? Suppliers sometimes have an FOB origin port price list, and then they also have a CIF destination port price list giving the buyer a choice of the terms of sale. Can think of no other context. If involved in a specific transaction where the some documents show CIF and another document shows FOB, it's best to not proceed until this is cleared up.

Mother vsl means the vsl carrying your cargo to the destination, which compares to the barging vsl. It is usually used in bulk business, such as iron ore business. If the draft of port is not deep enough to berth the vsl, the vsl has to berth in anchorage and can only be loaded by barge. In such case, the vsl is called mother vsl.
