Why do the customers always ask the L/C payment ,even they just want to buy samples???

Hi everybody
I have a problem that every client always requests the payment by L/C ,even they decided to buy samples
How can I deal with this situation

may be L/C is a safe payment way, and it's more regular.
if customer buy your sample,and then they ust the sample and have a good impress on the sample,they will be a back customer.

To my opinions, if the price is not much, using T/T should be OK. However, every one needs the most safe trade and so do I.
