I'm a buyer and agree with maciej, I would pay for the shipping of the sample. If I decide the shipping charges are right and not the supplier taking advante by asking more than the freight cost then I won't be as attract it. If the shipping is right and the quality of the product looks good then I would make a purchase of his/her product.

By sample I mean 1 unit and not a dozen. The buyer would like to verify that the product the seller is posting is in real the product he has for sale. Only way he can do this is by giving a free sample, shipping can be arranged with the buyer.

I also agree if the buyer places an order, then the shipping cost should be deducted from the invoice. That way the buyer and seller have a better experience for the first sale and future business can be establish. Trust is the first step.

After read all your answer, Now i can solve my problem too !!!
That is a wise decision to ask the courier fee to the buyer and deduct the fee if they put an order to us.

Thanx for your suggestion guys coz i'm newbie in this B2B.

And i already wasted $600 to sent those scamers free samples!!

glad to find a place to give my  personal opinion.

the freight charge should be at the buyer's account.  and if your sample is so small and cheap, you can provide them free sample. However, if your product even 1 unit is expensive, you have to charge for sample. Real buyer will understand your position.

because you let them get away with it. I have to payt all shipping fees and or anything like that. now when i requested a small sample of neoprene to see what type it was they would make wetsuits out of I told them to just cut a 5cm x5cm patch and send it to me, but no she said. she said she would have to get the neoprene  and then send it to me giving me some idiotic excuse why she could not perform this simple task. and also then wanted over 150.00 for this "sample" needless to say I did not pursue the business with them.
