POWER OF FAITH
Post 1 of 16
Suppose that two options are open to you:

1. you have to turn around very fast independently,
or
2. you have to turn around very fast gripping a pillar.

Which of these options will ensure that the chance of yours falling down are minimal?

Of course the second option, you will answer unhesitatingly. You are unlikely to fall down if you hold a pillar as a prop firmly and spin round.

Going by the same logic, we can conclude that we do need a firm pillar to support us in life’s rotation to prevent our fall.God can be the firm pillar and devotion, the grip.

Replying to [vshanker]:

"God helps those, who help themselves."

I want to change the subject a little bit but it still has to do with faith......

Do you think that God will interfere with Human activities or actions?

The quote you have given is an example that I do not believe in. If God does interfere or intervene on the basis of faith, then it will not be our own free will. Future events, results and consequences will be dictated by non-humans actions. Actions and Reactions will not be from Human Being alone since events are/were created by God in favor of those who believes with faith. Micro and Macro-Events will be designed by God's hand.

And our historical events would have to be decided by Gods himself (or themselves)!

An event created by God plus an event created by Human will lead to a conflict of interest.

But of course we do not believe this is true, because past events were created by the actions of Human, and Human were to be blamed for false mistakes in the past! And Intervention by God is never witnessed in Macro or Micro-events today.

American Slavery, for example, was an event that was created by the southern americans who believed with their faith in the Bible which says
" When a slave owner strikes a male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies immediately, the owner shall be punished. But if the slave survives a day or two, there is no punishment; for the slave is the owner's property. (Exod. 21:20-21)"

Yet we do not blame the Christian God!

American Civil War happened as a result, and I believe that this civil war was created by Human, not by God. Therefore, God did/do not help those who help themselves.

Your points are valid but I feel here you are missing one important point. To explain that, let me give here a small brief on the "Law of Karma" (Action) [ref: Bhagwad Gita] to the extent I could understand it though I am not an authority on this subject.

There are three kinds of karmas.

(1) Sanchit (accumulated or stored ) Karma - "which are stored as yet," not fructified. So such like karmas, from hundreds of births back, are just in store, not yet touched for reaction.

(2) Praarabadh (fate or destiny) Karma - refers to those Karmas which have already been performed in the present or previous lives and now we are enjoying or suffering because of those Karmas.

(3) Kriyaman or Agaamee Karma (acts being done in the present life whose fruits we will enjoy or suffer in our future times or lives.

There is no doubt that God (Divine force) does not intervene in our "Sanchit" (accumulated or stored) karmas as well as "Praarabadha" (destiny or fate) but he does help in our "Kriyaman" or "Agaamee" Karmas by guiding us through our intuitions and intelligence in shaping our future better as well as gives us strength (improve our will-power) to face the consequences (good or bad) of our "Prararabdah" in our present lives provided we link ourselves with HIM. Also, those who have faith in GOD may not feel the bitter sting of the karmas. My reference that “God helps those who help themselves” was in this context only.

So, man is free within certain limits and bound within certain limits.

This is what I believe in.
