Free Samples What to consider....
Post 1 of 35

[em11]Is it worth to send free samples to importers ?

1. If the value of your sample is high, then the buyer should pay the sample fee and the freight charge and you can refund the sample fee to the buyer when he place order with you.

2. If the sample value is little, then you can send samples free to importer, but they should pay for the freight charge, which can prevent some people who are hunting for free samples.

3. You can also negotiate with the buyers about samples. It depends on the agreement you make. May be you can ask buyer to pay half of the value of the sample.

CONCLUSION :

We have seen in so many cases, Buyer tries to get the sample free of cost, but if samples are offered free of cost, around 80% of importers will not, actually, place the order and they will just sell the free sample. The best way to offer the sample for free is to offer reimbursement at the time of placing the actual order. So that the Importer and Exporter both will get benefited [em17]

Whatever!

I don't spend hours each week going through Alibaba to get free samples of stuff I have either already got (bought locally at retail) or don't have any personal need for.

I do it because there is an item I wish to see and try with a view to possibly buying in quantity to onsell.

I don't want to pay for samples of small items because if I start throwing money around every one of Alibaba's 100's of companies selling item X will want to part me from money. So I narrow down my options based on who *won't* try and rip me off, and this usually leaves 2 or 3 companies, so these ones have a good chance of getting an order.

But try and quote me US$ 90 or 100 for a sample of an item that you're selling for a couple of dollars, and I will ignore you like the crook you are.
