Nigeria Scrap Metal Business?
Post 1 of 27
I get a lot of enquiries for scrap metal from China and india before i even knew the business exist because i live in Africa. so i decided to investigate this business and act as a broker for Companies so they do not fall into the hands of scammers.
1) From Nigeria i have not been able to find rail scraps i dont think they have it in quantity so anyone offering it is a scamer.
2) I see a lot of Batteries dry, car Metal, compressors, old PC, car engine, transformers, trucks, tanks etc so that is possible from here.
3) I have not seen ship scraps yet so if someone is offering it from Nigeria be careful.
I also do not know a lot about the business as i am learning it but i can help with answering question about what is possible from here.

Sherry, I feel shock when I read you message. You said that you never seem any used rail/scrap rail in Nigeria and anyone stated that they have used rail for sale is scammer. Are you serious about that?

I am planning to searching some used rail in there also.......... [em11]

Dear Sherry,

Thank you very much for whatever you posted on topic. I have one thing to need your help. I am negotiating with a man in Nigeria, he said he had over 500mt of used rails and now he can supply me with very soft price (CIF 170USD/mt).

Can you help me this is real or unreal?

Thank you very much!

Dear Sir,

I want to learn if Nigerian government banned rail scrap exports from Nigeria. People talk about 1.200.000 mt rail scrap in the country,is this true?Do you think it is risky to follow this deal? Please advise.

You asked from sherry but lets me take a note.

The price shows it is fake offer, because when global price is about  $500-600, which trader sell 1/3 of price!?

Fake sellers. 1) sales of  scrap metal is banned from Nigeria so any seller offering it is a fake seller walk away immidiately from this seller.

Replying to [Sherry]:Made business in scrap metal with Africa in general is very dangerous, because all people that offer metal, never exist only want to get easy money and never load anything, no body want to do some deal with Africa, have a very bad reputation. I have experience in this item, and please be carefully, the material not exist never.

I cannot believe that an ignorant person like you tries to educate people for scap metal business and Africa. By just reading your msg, I am pretty sure that you never entered into scrap metal business. off course any business deal can go wrong and there is some scammers in Africa like every where else, but for you to say that Africa does not have scrap metals of any kind is just not true. I am not lying , but  I shipped 4 containers of scrap metals in the month of May alone from Africa, so please keep quiet and do not mislead entrepreneurs who are trying to start scrap metal business. Thanks
