Is safety your first priority?

Or are you more concerned with speed and efficiency of payments?

If you are a seller, will you accept payments by methods other than TT and Western Union?

If you are a buyer, how cautious are you trade using these methods?

I'm very interested to hear your comments.

Replying to [Admin]: I am a buyer and I prefer Escrow.com. One of the biggest problems with ordering products for overseas is that the merchandise received is not the same as the sample. Escrow gives us the ability to inspect the merchandise before paying the seller.

Replying to [Admin]:As a buyer we pay only 100% LC.

100%T/T, 30% in advance, the balance should be paid before dispatch. We can sure that the money will be paid before dispatched, and there will be no tied-up money. Maybe this is the most sate payment terms for the exporters.

If we choose L/C at sight or xxdays at sight, if the document appears some discrepance with the terms mentioned in L/C, it is possible that the importer will refuse to pay for the goods.

Yes, now the payement way is really a headache problem. Although the L/C is a safety way, but it's too complicated and not suitable for many small or middle-size suppliers.
i prefer to use T/T and Western union. I understand many buyers who ever used the Western Union and maybe just had one unpleasant experience by cheated, but I believe such unhonest sellers in china just takes a very very little part, most are honest and sincerely want to do business with the buyers from overseas.

As for the Alibaba internationl website,i think it should be the best business website in china until now. Just as you suggested,if they can develop one payment way on net, that would be much better, and for the handling charge,i think it should be splited by sellers and buyers. If so ,that would be easy and quick for the deal finish.

Replying to [Admin]: Hi I prefer the safest payment method. If everyone sent a message to Alibaba saying they wanted a more secure site for both the sellers and buyers they just might do something about it. I agree that we should have a feedback system like ebay and it would be even better if Alibaba controlled the handling of the money being transfered like a escrow service. So come on everyone and contact Alibaba and demand for the changes>
