You get what you pay for
Post 1 of 61

just have a couple of questions: Why is it that people who place buying leads want to purchase items for under a dollar.Do you realize that the people that you are buying from have to recover money for the product and make a profit? You want to purchase t-shirts for $0.25-$0.75, yet you sell them for $10 to $15 each making a huge profit.Come on get real. You might as well be given the products for free. You find a foreigner who is willing to sell you the product that you want, but then get upset when the products are of poor quality,or when you are scammed out of your money.DUH! You get what you pay for.In order to make money yo have to spend money. If you really want good quality products then you should be willing to pay for them.STOP EXPECTING SOMETHING FOR NOTHING.We,as suppliers ,are in this to make money too.

Replying to [ladyD]You get what you paid for! so there is no standard in USA. Suppliers who cannot supply standard goods should not be in business.Likewise, buyers should buy only quality products. Both suppliers and buyers should have conscience over what they supply and import.Humanity should be protected from the effects of substanded products.Thank you

Commitment & responsibility is the main deed for real business people. What you like to get you have to pay the same surplus is called corrupt.

Couldn't agree more with you.The reson I didn't reply sooner is I've just being waiting to see some more respones to this.
Yes unfortunately it seems eveybody wants something for nothing these days.
It really gets up my nose when I get someone ask for a quote eg..
A Ring with Macarsite that weighs 20 grams costs $11.70us.
That's Factory direct no middle men.
Not only is the Silver and Mac taking into the calulation but so is the labour, workmanship and costs of gas and electricity.
I know for a Fact that this item can be sold in other countries for 3-4 up to 5 times more than what the person buys it for.
Their reply to me is "OH that expensive"(as soon as I hear that I know they know nothing about jewelry) " I can get a better price in China".
Now let me state I have nothing against the Chinese, they are giving Thailand and other countries a very hard time at the moment in almost if not all areas of Trade. And the fact is we cannot compete against their prices we never will. But what we can compete with them in is QUALITY and ORGINALITY.
So what I tell the people that say this to me is "Fine go and buy it from the Chinese and after a week to a month when the Macarsite falls off and your finger strats to go green just remember "You get what you paid for".[em29]

Johnleo,

Couldn't agree with you more. Very true.

Besides, most manufacturers in China want huge minimum quantities. I believe there was a thread with the title 'Huge Minimum Order Quantities' or something to that effect. If we are asked to produce similar quantities, even we can offer the similar prices.

i agree with everyone is talking about in most respects but theres the other end of the spectrum to consideer her too. lets talk about what every hates to hear about product diversion! there was another topic on here somewhere about brokers and agents that i responded to and i think the same holds true here. yes everyone should be willing o pay a fair price for a fair product i know i am am more than willing to take a small hit on price as long as i can get something with continuity but lets face it the name of the game is buy cheap sell high. always has been and always will be. theres no other way around it if it were any other way no one would be here right now cause no one would be making any money.

as a broker i catch wind of all kinds of deals on all kinds of products. but it dosent explain why i can go to one guy and pay one price and go to another and pay a different price. i think the reason is the maufacturers dont have any clue of what the market price is where as brokers do because we deal with the little guys and sthe big ones. and our job is to beat up on people to get better prices for our customers while still trying to be fair and make a buck or two. im not out to rip people off but a lot of time maufacturers prices are WAY off.

and thats diversion. everyone says stay away from diverters. well in acctuallity diverters are a distributors best friend! dont believe me call me up my info is on my profile. and tell me what your loooking for and ill see if i cant find you a better price than what your paying now that makes everyone money.[em6] so there. lol

im willing to take the pepsi challenge on this. who wants to make some money!?

hahahaha! somtime i get a little carried away. i like my job. and somtimes i have way too much fun with it!

but seriously think about that next time someone asks you for a lower price whether you can do it or not.
